Compact Fiber Optics Transmitter and Receiver
DC/DC Converters Designed for Driver Circuits in
Link Electronics introduces the PFO-100-T&R, a compact 3G/HD/SD-
SDI or ASI fiber optics transmission system. This unit operates with
a single-mode fiber optics cable, but a multi-mode fiber optics cable
can be requested for shorter transmission distances. The module is
SDI pathological test compliant, and features a built in equalizer, cable
driver, and re-clocker.
The Link PFO series has signal jitter elimination circuitry to ensure
high-quality signal transmission over long distances, with fiber optic
cable on both the transmitter and receiver. The combined PFO-100T
(transmitter) and PFO-100R (receiver) are a matched pair for specific
wavelengths, either the standard 1310 nm or any requested wavelength
between 1270-1610 nm. The portable and powerful system is ideal in
a wide variety of applications, including cross-town fiber links, cross-campus production, remote camera links, and pre-installed fiber venues.

Available now from MicroPower Direct, the IG275E series is a family of miniature
DC/DC converters. They are designed specifically to provide the asynchronous
output voltage levels required to properly bias the gate drive of IGBT
semiconductors. They are offered at very low cost.
Three models operate from 12, 15 or 24 VDC input bus voltages, providing
dual outputs of + 15 VDC and - 8 VDC; the recommended gate bias levels for
most IGBT driver circuits. The output current is plus or minus 120 mA. Standard
features include 3,000 VAC I/O isolation, very low isolation capacitance, and high
efficiency. The MTBF (per MIL HDBK 217F) is greater than 3. 5 Mhours.
All models are packaged in a miniature, 7-pin SIP case that requires very
little board space. The pin-out is industry standard and all case materials meet
UL94-V0 requirements. They are specified for operation over the wide operating
temperature range of -40°C to +105°C with no heat sinking required. Cooling is
by free-air convection.
