deploy a multi-layered security approach within the connected
vehicle. A multi-layered approach provides a framework for
end-to-end protection of the vehicle’s infrastructure and
ensures the integrity of the vehicle is not compromised.
Implementing this tactic not only keeps drivers safe from
malicious cyber breaches, but also enables engineers to
stress of having to bring vehicles to dealerships for software
maintenance and upgrades. In addition to the embedded
security protection, the driver should always have the option
to opt in or out of any data collection that takes place in the

High-Voltage Unipolar Switches are Optimized
for 3 V to 28 V Operation

Diodes Incorporated has introduced a new family of high-performance, unipolar Hall-effect switches designed for operation
over a supply range of 3.0 V to 28 V in consumer and industrial
applications. The AH337x series of four devices features open-drain outputs in varying sensitivities from +30 G to +115 G, while
the high-sensitivity AH3382 has an internal pull-up on its output.
Typical applications include position and proximity sensing, open
and close detection, contact-less switches, level detection, and
flow meters. Markets span home appliances, consumer personal
care products, office equipment, and industrial position and speed
measurement, such as valve position sensing.

packaged versions of these devices is
switched on when a magnetic south
pole of sufficient strength is presented
to the part-marking surface, while the
SC59 packaged devices work with
the opposite pole for the same effect.

the IGD962-8A is a hybrid integrated
circuit specifically designed to provide
the isolated gate drive required to
control high-speed, high-power IGBT
modules. They are offered at very low cost.
The IGD962-8A converts a TTL-compatible input signal
into a fully isolated + 15 V / - 10 V gate drive with a peak
drive current of 8 A. An internal, high-speed opto-coupler
provides an isolated ( 3,750 VAC) control signal with a CMR
ratio of 30 kV/μS for precise switching at high speed. A built-in “desaturation detector” provides short circuit protection.
A fault signal is generated if the detector is activated. The
timing of the fail signal is variable, allowing users to tailor
the unit to specific application requirements.
Typical applications include high-frequency welding
systems, solar converters, uninterruptible power supplies
(UPS), and automotive/appliance motor drives. The IGD962-
8A is fully compatible with M57962AL type drivers.
