The Microsoft CEO just offered
women the worst career advice possible
By Kasey Panetta, Editor
Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s CEO, was at an event that focused on
women in computing when he was asked about how to ask for a
promotion or raise. In a response — which I’m sure he currently
regrets given the backlash — Nadella said, “It’s not really about
asking for the raise, but knowing and having faith that the system
will actually give you the right raises as you go along, and that I
think might be one of the additional superpowers that, quite frank-
ly, women who don’t ask for raises have.”
Worst career advice ever.
What it’s like to fly the “world’s worst
By Jason Lomberg, Digital Editor
I hate flying. I’m not scared, I just hate the entire experience. I
hate the hassle — arriving early, checking in, trudging through
the security checkpoints, and how long it takes to disembark. I
also get terrible motion sickness, so I drug myself to the gills with
Dramamine, ginger ale, and whatever over-the-counter drugs won’t
levy dangerous side-effects. And every spot of turbulence feels like
the end of the world.
